Alberta RCMP report they removed 122 drivers from roadways and issued 1,204 tickets during the long weekend.

Police say from May 15-18, Mounties conducted enhanced traffic enforcement to target impaired drivers and unsafe driving practices.

“The Alberta RCMP will continue to have an enhanced presence on provincial roadways every long weekend,” said Sgt. Darrin Turnbull, Alberta RCMP Traffic, in a media release. “Everyone has a role to play—choices like driving sober, staying focused, and buckling up can save lives.”

The 122 total drivers that were removed from the roads were impaired due to drugs or alcohol, police say.
