Maskwacis RCMP have charged two men after they allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint over the long weekend.

Police say on Sunday, May 17, at approximately 1 p.m., two suspects allegedly robbed a man of his liquor while manipulating a rifle in Montana First Nation.

The man had gotten away unharmed, but the suspects from Maskwacis, who police say were known to each other, fled the scene in a blue SUV.

Melvin Myles Cattleman, 38, has since been arrested and charged, but Jesse Lee Roasting, 36, has not yet been arrested.

Mounties say Roasting is a prolific offender, and while still at large, is considered to be armed.

Cattleman was charged with robbery with a firearm, possession of a firearm when prohibited, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and three counts of failure to comply with a release order.

He was brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Wetaskiwin on May 19.

Meanwhile, Roasting was charged with robbery with a firearm, three counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and possession of a firearm knowing the possession is unauthorized.
