Canada beats Finland, U.S. at world mixed doubles curling championship
GENEVA — Canada’s Colton and Kadriana Lott finished Sunday with a pair of wins thanks to a 7-3 victory over the United States.
Canada (3-0) also defeated Finland 10-4 earlier in the day.
After the Canadians held a 4-1 edge at the midway point, the Americans answered with two points in the fifth end to cut the deficit to one. Canada then scored two in the sixth and one in the seventh before the U.S. conceded the final end.
Earlier in the day, after falling behind 3-0 after the opening end, the Canadians scored five in the the second followed by two in the third and one in the fourth to swiftly take an 8-3 lead over Finland. After the Finns answered with one in the fifth, Canada tacked on another two in the sixth before Finland conceded the final two ends.
