Snowfall Warning

Updated: Christmas Eve snowfall of 10-15 cm expected for central Alberta

A Snowfall Warning is in place for Red Deer and the surrounding area.

Officials with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) say snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 15 cm is expected on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2025.

Meteorologists say a band of heavy snow will form over southern Alberta in the morning and move northwards during the day. The snow is expected to end Wednesday evening and overnight.

Officials note that travel will likely be challenging and visibility will likely be reduced at times. Drivers are reminded to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions and allow extra time for travel.
