Dec 12, 2025 | 12:34 PM

Alberta RCMP removed 50 impaired drivers from the roads on Saturday, Dec. 6 as part of their role in National Impaired Driving Enforcement Day.

Of the 50 drivers, 28 received Immediate Roadside Sanctions FAILS, 13 received WARNS, and six novice or commercial drivers were removed for IRS ZEROES.

“These statistics are just a snapshot of what is occurring on Alberta’s roadways,” says Sgt. Darrin Turnbull, Alberta RCMP Traffic. “Enforcement initiatives such as National Impaired Driving Enforcement Day are an essential reminder that driving impaired due to drugs or alcohol is never okay and can have devastating consequences. If you suspect an impaired driver, call 911 immediately.”

In addition, 328 tickets were issued throughout the day, including five for distracted driving and 54 for speeding.
