Suspected drugs and weapons seized by police after traffic stop in Lacombe
The Lacombe Police Service have arrested an Edmonton man following a traffic stop over a week ago after he was found to be wanted on outstanding warrants.
The traffic stop took place on Nov. 16 at approximately 2:40 p.m., when they pulled over a grey coloured BMW in the 4400 block of 50 Avenue.
The driver was arrested without incident on his outstanding warrants, and a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of several small baggies of suspected methamphetamine as well as a 12-gauge shotgun, ammunition, and multiple edged weapons, including knives and swords.
As a result, the 41-year-old man is facing multiple charges, including possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, careless use or storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and possession of an unauthorized firearm.
