Nov 19, 2025 | 10:58 AM

Ryder Riedel has had quite the couple weeks with the AJHL’s Olds Grizzlys.

The 18-year-old rookie has had such an outstanding run, he just earned his second straight AJHL Rookie of the Week nod.

The Didsbury native, who played in Coquitlam (BCHL & JPHL) last season, has recorded points in all six games he’s played, including five points (2G, 3A) in two games last week.

Riedel earned player of the game honours after posting two assists and scoring the overtime game winner in a 5-4 win versus the visiting Drumheller Dragons on Nov. 14.

He earned it again the next night with a goal and an assist in a 6-3 road loss to the Camrose Kodiaks.

The 5-13-1-1 Grizzlys are still last in the South Division, two points behind Drayton Valley.

They play next on Nov. 21 in Drumheller, whom they trail by seven points. Then they play the Dragons again at home on Nov. 22. Puck drop is at 7 that night from the Olds Sportsplex.
