Trial dates have been set for two men charged in a residential robbery in Red Deer last year.

Austin Dampier, 19, of Red Deer, and Rain Yellowface, 25, a resident of the O’Chiese First Nation, are scheduled for trial in Red Deer Court of Justice from Jan. 6-7, 2026.

Police say on Nov. 29, 2024, at 2:06 a.m. they were notified of a robbery that took place at a home in the Kentwood neighbourhood.

During the incident, one of the accused had allegedly pointed a sawed-off rifle at the victim and took their cellphone and other personal items.

Police conducted a search warrant at the residence as part of their investigation with assistance from the Emergency Response Team and the Red Deer RCMP General Investigations Section. Police found a sawed-off rifle and items that belonged to the victim.

As a result, two suspects were arrested without further incident.

Austin Dampier was charged with robbery with a firearm, assault, forcible confinement, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, unauthorized possession of a firearm, failure to comply with undertaking, and failure to comply with release order.

Yellowface was charged with robbery with firearm, assault, forcible confinement, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.

Mounties say both were taken before a Justice of the Peace on Dec. 2, 2024, at the Red Deer Court of Justice and were remanded into custody.
