One dead, one critically injured in Mountain View County on March 2

One person is deceased after a motor vehicle collision in Mountain View County this week.

The person’s age and hometown are yet to be released.

RCMP say it was on March 2 at around 5:30 p.m. when officers from Didsbury and Sundre responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 22, near Township Road 312. This is about an 18-minute drive southeast of Sundre.

Upon arriving on scene, a Dodge Journey and Ford F150 were located in the northbound lane, with the Dodge fully engulfed in flames.

The driver of the Dodge was declared deceased at the scene, say police. The driver of the F150 was taken via STARS to a Calgary hospital in critical condition.

The RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation continues.

RCMP sends condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and the injured male.
