Nomination deadline approaching for Red Deer Mayor’s Recognition Awards

The nomination deadline is approaching for the 2025 Mayor’s Recognition Awards, an an annual opportunity to recognize outstanding individuals, groups or teams that have brought honour and recognition to Red Deer.

The nomination deadline is Feb. 24, at 9 a.m. The awards are open to anyone who lives in or contributes to the community.

There are five award categories:

  • Athletics
  • Community Builder Award
  • Distinguished Voluntary Service
  • Fine & Performing Arts
  • Mayor’s Special Award

The awards are the City’s way of acknowledging and congratulating its citizens for their accomplishments, recognizing a broad range of achievements, as many people serve the community in different ways.

Award recipients are selected by the Mayor’s Recognition Awards Committee, except the Mayor’s Special Award recipient, who he will select himself.
