Sylvan reminds users to keep the lake clean this winter

The Town of Sylvan Lake would like to remind all users to do their part in keeping the lake clean this winter.

Sylvan provides the following examples of how users can help the lake:

  • Anything brought onto the ice needs to be taken with you when you go. This includes everything from food, to coals from a fire, to fishing line.
  • Please use the trash cans provided by the lake skating rinks which the Town says it regularly empties.

To lend an extra helping hand:

  1. Get a special heavy duty trash bag from the Town of Sylvan Lake Public Works Department
  2. Fill it up with trash from the ice
  3. Leave it near the lake access at the pier
  4. Phone the Town at 403-887-2800 (ext. 2) and someone will pick it up
