Red Deer city council updates Committees Bylaw

Red Deer’s city council passed three readings of an updated Committees Bylaw during its regular meeting Feb. 10.

The changes add two citizen representative seats to the Audit Committee and adds one member of the Lived Experience Council to the Housing and Homelessness Integration Committee (HHIC).

An amendment was made after second reading to shuffle and better clarify experience requirements for the Audit Committee representatives. This passed 6-2, with Bruce Buruma and Chad Krahn opposed.

All three readings of the bylaw passed unanimously.
