Sentencing scheduled for man charged in central Alberta murder
Sentencing has been set for a man charged in a central Alberta homicide over two-and-a-half years ago.
Kieran Keith Lightning, 22, is scheduled for sentencing in Wetaskiwin Court of King’s Bench on Jan. 21, 2025. The date was set following his jury trial in Wetaskiwin Dec. 9-20, 2024.
Lightning is charged with second-degree murder in relation to a homicide on Samson Cree Nation on Sept. 9, 2022.
Mounties identified the deceased as 22-year-old Jordie Buffalo-Crier, a resident of Samson Cree Nation.
