Two Suspects Charged

Jury trial scheduled for suspect charged in Red Deer homicide

Dec 19, 2024 | 2:58 PM

A jury trial has been scheduled for one of two people charged in a Red Deer homicide earlier this year.

Lance Michael Bilsky, 46, of Red Deer, is scheduled for a jury trial in Red Deer Court of King’s Bench from Sept. 15-Oct. 3, 2025.

His co-accused, Corey Duane Archer, 47, also of Red Deer, sees his matter return to Red Deer Court of King’s Bench on Jan. 6, 2025.

RCMP say that on March 21, 2024, at 3:51 p.m., members received a report of a shooting that had allegedly occurred at an apartment building along Parke Avenue on Red Deer’s north end in the Pines neighbourhood.

When officers arrived, a suspect was observed running from the area, police say.

After a short pursuit on foot, the male was arrested, and police say they seized a firearm.

A second male suspect was also located near the scene and arrested.

Other officers arriving on scene located a deceased person, later identified as 54-year-old resident Jason Cory Worobec.

RCMP charged Lance Bilsky, and Corey Archer. Bilsky was charged with second-degree murder while Archer was charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

Both Bilsky and Archer were taken before a justice of the Peace and remanded into custody.
