Red Deer collision claims life of Saskatchewan resident

On April 12, 2026, at 9:43 a.m., Red Deer RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision on 67 Street near Pamely Avenue in Red Deer.

Upon arrival, police say the driver and sole occupant of one of the vehicles, a Toyota Matrix, was deceased. Mounties say the driver of the other vehicle, a GMC Sierra, received minor injuries and was treated and released.

The deceased has been identified as a 47-year-old Saskatchewan resident.  

RCMP remained on scene for several hours investigating. 

RCMP have determined that the Matrix crossed over the centre meridian into oncoming traffic. 

Alberta RCMP send their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Red Deer RCMP would like to advise the public that 67 Street eastbound has reopened for travel and thanks the public for their cooperation. 

Mounties say an update is anticipated once more information becomes available.

Red Deer RCMP are currently on scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision on 67 Street, eastbound near Pamely Avenue.

Mounties say 67 Street eastbound will be closed in the area until further notice. The public is asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes of travel.
