Olds Grizzlys hire new assistant coach

Jul 16, 2024 | 2:12 PM

The Olds Grizzlys have hired a new assistant coach, Brad Tobin, of Delta, B.C.

Tobin comes to the Grizzly Den after spending 10 years as an assistant with the Surrey Eagles of the British Columbia Hockey League, and the last two seasons as head coach and general manager in the Kootenay International Junior “A” Hockey League with the Creston Valley Thundercats.

Tobin has coached with Grizzlys head coach Peter Schaefer in the past and said he is looking forward to rekindling that relationship.

“I’m a players coach first and foremost. I’m looking forward to putting a good team on the ice for the fans and the community and can’t wait to hit the ground running when I get to town,” he said.

He has already started helping out Schaefer with recruiting and getting ready for training camp and is expected to be in Olds on August 1.

Olds Grizzly’s training camp opens up August 23, 2024.
