Large quantity of stolen property recovered: Ponoka County residents charged

Two Ponoka County residents have been arrested in relation to a cache of stolen items found at a rural property on Morning Meadow Drive.

Ponoka RCMP received a report of potentially stolen items being located at the rural residence. After a short investigation on May 23 and May 24, Mounties say they executed a search warrant and seized multiple items that police believe to be stolen from various residential and commercial break and enters in the area.

According to RCMP, Recovered items include a large amount of copper wire; trailers; a quad; multiple construction tools including saws, welders; full tools boxes; household effects; bicycles; pressure washers; snow blowers; and other miscellaneous property, altogether exceeding $100,000 in value.

RCMP have arrested and charged two 25-year-old suspects, Justin Gamble and Jayden Elizabeth Kraft, with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (four counts)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 (six counts)
  • Alter vehicle identification number (two counts)

Both Gamble and Kraft were taken before a justice of the peace and released with their next court date set for June 21, 2024 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Ponoka.
