"ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

Protest against alleged UCP shortcomings planned for Red Deer City Hall

May 22, 2024 | 1:00 PM

A group called the ‘Concerned Citizens of Alberta’ will be holding a general protest at Red Deer City Hall on Saturday, May 25 to tell the governing United Conservative Party that, “enough is enough.”

They say the UCP is, “falling short on multiple fronts,” hence the generalized protest. The focus is broad, with the group hoping to express discontent with the state of climate action, cost of living, the threat of wildfires, and more.

“The UCP’s neglect of our vital social infrastructure, such as healthcare, hospitals, housing, and social services, has left real cracks in our society, impacting people’s lives,” says Provincial Co-organizer Michael Kalmanovitch.

From 2-4 p.m., in conjunction with other gatherings across the province, including one in nearby Sylvan Lake, citizens will be delivering speeches, playing music, and sharing displays in a family-friendly environment, say event organizers.
