Eckville man wins $800,000 on Bigger Spin promotion

An Eckville man is one of six Albertans who are quite a bit richer today than they were earlier this week.

The local resident won a chance to take part in a special event put on by the Western Canada Lottery Corporation by purchasing a BIGGER SPIN ticket and scratching a ‘Spin Win.’

Five of the six got to spin (three for BIG SPIN wins and two for BIGGER SPIN wins), while one other played the famous Plinko game from The Price is Right.

The Eckville resident won $800,000 on his spin.

That was part of a total $2.7 million in winnings from the special event.

The winning Eckville ticket was purchased at the Rimbey Value Drug Mart located at 4917 50 Avenue.

“I was so excited to see I had the winning ticket,” he said during his claim interview with WCLC. “I high-fived the guy behind me and immediately called my buddy to tell him!”

The winner said he’s hoping to buy a new truck.
