Red Deer Regional Health Foundation launches philanthropy group for women

The Red Deer Regional Health Foundation is launching a new philanthropic women’s group, aiming to advance health care in central Alberta.

Women Leading Philanthropy (WLP) is being described as a, “giving circle that encourages active participation,” and one that, “involves donors in decision-making … for like-minded women of diverse backgrounds.”

The group’s premiere event, Purposeful Change: Women’s Philanthropy Symposium, will be an afternoon of perspectives and insights from a group of six speakers across various fields, sharing their expertise on matters affecting women.

“Together, members of the WLP program empower women to actively transform healthcare in our region, both now and in the future,” said Therriault.

The symposium takes place May 29 in Red Deer. The public can pre-purchase tickets for $50, and those wishing to become WLP members can deduct the ticket price from their membership fee. Details and tickets can be found at www.rdrhf.com/event/purposeful-change.
