Charges laid in Gleichen homicide investigation

Charges have been laid in a homicide investigation in Gleichen.

The investigation is in connection to an incident reported by RCMP to have occurred on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, in which officers found a deceased man in the southeast Alberta hamlet. An autopsy determined his death was the result of a homicide.

Police have confirmed the victim to be 59-year-old Siksika Nation resident Clayton Redgun.

Richie Lance Bearhat, a 27-year-old Siksika resident, is charged with second-degree murder. Police say Bearhat has been remanded into custody, with a court date set for April 29 in Red Deer.

The RCMP says it has obtained an arrest warrant for second-degree murder for a second suspect, 20-year-old Siksika Nation resident David Bruce Drunkenchief.
