New doctor working at Easthill clinic in Red Deer

A new family physician is practicing out of Red Deer’s Easthill Medicine Clinic, AHS shares.

Dr. Kamal Mustafa is now accepting new patients, and does offer hospitalist and palliative care at Red Deer Regional Hospital in addition.

Individuals can arrange a meet-and-greet by calling 403-343-0115.

“Red Deer has a growing healthcare sector and offers many opportunities for physicians to grow their careers,” says Dr. Mustafa, who previously practised in Ontario and Saudi Arabia, and received his medical education in Pakistan.

“The city also offers a balance of urban amenities and a more relaxed lifestyle compared to larger centres, which is appealing to physicians who are seeking a better work-life balance.”

Alberta Health Services says it continues to recruit for physicians across the Central Zone to meet community needs.

“AHS has physician resource planners who are dedicated to identifying and pursuing international and domestic physician recruitment opportunities,” the health authority says.

“Resource planners work closely with various community partners and organizations, such as local Health Advisory Councils, the Rural Health Professions Action Plan, and independent physician recruitment and retention committees.
