Nominate someone now for a 2024 Mayor’s Recognition Award

The City of Red Deer is now accepting nominations for the 2024 Mayor’s Recognition Awards.

These awards honour individuals, groups and teams who have made a special contribution that has brought honour and recognition to Red Deer, and are a way of acknowledging and congratulating citizens for their accomplishments.

“I’m always impressed by the spirit of this city,” said Mayor Ken Johnston. “Our citizens are exceptional, and they accomplish incredible things. This awards program gives us the chance to recognize that.”

Nominations can be submitted through March 25 at 9 a.m. and are open to anyone who lives in or contributes to Red Deer in five categories:

• Athletics
• Distinguished Voluntary Service
• Fine & Performing Arts
• Community Builder Award
• Mayor’s Special Award

“While these awards recognize a broad range of achievements, we know many people serve our community in different ways,” added Mayor Johnston. “If you know a group, individual or team who has gone above and beyond in service of our community, please consider nominating them for a Mayor’s Special Award.”
