Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre hosts annual Easter Musical Production this month

Mar 8, 2024 | 9:47 AM

The Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre (CAPCC) will be hosting its annual Easter Musical Production “Walk with Me” this month.

The show takes place at four different times at the Red Deer Memorial Centre:

  • Thursday, March 21 at 7 p.m., Friday
  • Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 23 at 2:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 23 at 7 p.m.

“Walk With Me” is an original production that follows two men walking home to Emmaus on the first Easter morning. A ‘stranger’ joins them, and the men unknowingly meet the risen Christ.

“Travel the road to Emmaus with us and experience the greatest story ever told,” said organizers in a release.

They say tickets are free of charge due to the generosity of event sponsors but as the family-friendly show is rush seating, attendees are encouraged to arrive early to find a seat.

They say all proceeds from the musical production will go towards the Aerie Maternity Home, a two-phase program in Red Deer for pregnant teens and young women, offering a nurturing home to support a healthy pregnancy and positive parenting.

The Aerie is staffed 24/7 and can accommodate up to 11 women and their infants. The Home aims to build residents’ ability to maintain stability and realize their full potential.

“A safe and stable home with access to nutritious foods allows residents to begin to focus on long-term goals of improved education outcomes, employment, positive parenting, improved mental and physical well-being, and economic self-sufficiency. These funds allow the Centre to extend grace and provide education and ongoing, compassionate support before, during, and after pregnancy in our local community,” said Aerie officials.

Attendees can register, sponsor, or donate to the event online.
