March 2024 Marks the twentieth Anniversary of Fraud Prevention Month in Canada.

Fraud Prevention Month is a month-long crime prevention initiative aimed at educating and informing consumers and communities on how to recognize, report and stop fraud.

Across Alberta during the month of March, interested police and law enforcement agencies, and community and consumer groups form the Alberta Fraud Prevention Month committee to plan launches and events to spread key messages to the public on how to better protect themselves.

This year’s themes include identity theft:

  • Online scams and fraud
  • Business Fraud and scams
  • Investment scams
  • Mass marketing and phone scams

When: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Where: Downtown library (Red Deer)

The Central Alberta FASD Network is working with the Alberta Community Crime Prevention Association to host our second Fraud Prevention event in March for Fraud Prevention Month. We would like to extend an invite you attend this event. There will be guest speakers and other booths present to share information on how to better protect against different types of fraud.
