AHS announces new doctor practising in Sylvan Lake

Alberta Health Services says a new family doctor is now practising in Sylvan Lake.

Dr. Abigail Garba is working out of Sylvan Lake Family Health Centre, Sylvan Lake Advanced Ambulatory Care Service and Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre. Sylvan Lake has been severely hampered by regular temporary closures of its ambulatory care service, especially over the last two years.

Garba is accepting new patients and can be reached at 403-887-2224, AHS says.

Dr. Garba practised as a family physician in Nigeria for more than a decade prior to arriving in Canada. She also received her medical training in Nigeria and specializes in basic obstetrical care.
