Red Deer RCMP GIS charge Edmonton male for drug trafficking

Red Deer RCMP have arrested and charged one male following a lengthy drug trafficking investigation.

On Nov. 30, 2023, Red Deer RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) arrested a 38-year-old resident of Edmonton, in a parking lot in south Red Deer. Mounties say the arrest was the result of a months-long investigation that began in June 2023.

A search following the suspect’s arrest led police to locate and seize approximately 46 grams of cocaine, multiple cell phones, and cash.

RCMP says the suspect has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking. Mounties say a Judicial Interim Release Hearing was held for the suspect who was released on cash bail and numerous conditions. Police say the suspect is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on Dec. 19, 2023.
