City launches new public engagement platform

Sep 2, 2023 | 3:36 PM

The City of Red Deer has launched a new platform called Engage Red Deer, which is designed to enhance public participation.

The City says it will redefine how residents interact with local government officials and contribute to municipal decision-making.

It’s now live at engage.reddeer.ca.

Engage Red Deer is another way we are continuing to improve dialogue with citizens, and create additional opportunities for residents to influence municipal decisions that impact them and their community,” said Tara Shand, Community & Public Relations Manager.

The site will be a central hub, The City says, for surveys, virtual workshops, citizen registries, and other interactive tools for meaningful engagement.

It will also kep the public informed about upcoming and ongoing projects.

“On Engage Red Deer, residents can also join the Engaged Citizens Group, an inclusive online space where Red Deerians can sign up to complete surveys and participate in a variety of discussions on topics that matter to them.”

The site currently features information about the progress on the Michener Lands, about a new Animal Bylaw, and the Land Use Bylaw, among others.
