Final roster announced for Team Alberta U18

After three rounds of camps that has whittled 467 registrants down to the final 40 players who will represent Alberta in the Football Canada Cup, officials with Football Alberta have announced the final roster. presented below.

The Football Canada Cup is a National Championship for Provincial Teams at the U18 boys level. Officials note it has been contested since 1995 and will be held in Edmonton this summer from July 7-15, with the final games being played at Commonwealth Stadium on July 15.

Officials at Football Alberta say the province has been to every Football Canada Cup since its inception and has won six national championships including the first one in 1995, but it has been since 2007 that the provinces has hoisted the Cup over their heads.

Five silvers medals since that time have made for a successful program but officials say it’s hoped its time to take the final step on home turf.
