Rimbey RCMP investigating ATM theft, culprit(s) used excavator

RCMP are investigating after an allegedly stolen excavator was used to steal an ATM in Rimbey this week.

Mounties say it was about 3 a.m. on June 5 (Monday) when the local detachment received a report of a break-in and theft from the Servus Credit Union (5046 50 Avenue).

“Investigation has revealed that unknown suspects stole an excavator from a nearby worksite, and utilized it to access the building, ultimately stealing the ATM inside,” says Cpl. Troy Savinkoff, Alberta RCMP.

“RCMP are working with the Central Alberta Crime Reduction Unit in order to investigate this offense.”
