Lacombe man charged in Lac La Biche shooting incident

A central Alberta man is facing charges after a shooting in Lac La Biche last week.

On May 30, 2023, Lac La Biche RCMP were dispatched to a firearms complaint where Mounties allege a male suspect discharged a firearm at a residence. RCMP issued a Shelter in Place for residents in the area.

RCMP then contained the area and a search for the suspect was conducted, but information was received the suspect had fled the scene in a vehicle.

On May 31, 2023, at 12:55 p.m., Edmonton Police located the suspect and the vehicle in Edmonton and he was safely taken into custody.

Chervaine Dean Saddleback, 33, a resident of Lacombe, has been charged with 12 offences, some of which include:

After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, police say Saddleback was remanded into custody and will be appearing in Alberta Court of Justice in St. Paul on June 5, 2023.
