Wildfire smoke prompts Special Air Quality Statement for Red Deer
As Red Deerians have likely figured out, the air quality in the region is less than optimal as of Tuesday morning.
Thus, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued a Special Air Quality Statement. In fact, air quality advisories are in place for most of the province.
ECCC says conditions in Red Deer are expected to improve on Wednesday, and in fact look to gradually improve throughout the day today, according to the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI).
As of 9 a.m. on Tuesday, the risk for Red Deer is listed at 8, or ‘high risk’, on the Alberta Government’s AQHI website.
