Ponoka home invasion under investigation

Ponoka RCMP are investigating a home invasion which occurred on May 4.

RCMP say it was just before 5:30 a.m. that day when they received a report of a home invasion on 58 Avenue in Ponoka.

The investigation has revealed that unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s home through an open kitchen window.

Once inside, they stole several items including the victim’s wallet and keys, before leaving the home in the victim’s vehicle.

The vehicle is a 2018 Buick Enclave, dark brown in colour, and bearing Alberta plate CDN 9295.

While RCMP investigate this crime, Ponoka RCMP would like to remind residents to be aware of the security risks with leaving ground floor windows open during these hot summer months.
