Annie L. Gaetz and Oriole Park to host full day Kindergarten Open House

Red Deer Public Schools has announced it is excited to expand its programming and choices for families for the 2023/2024 school year.

Officials say this includes the Kindergarten Academy of Discovery, which is expected to provide full day, every day Kindergarten in both English and French.

The program will be offered at Annie L. Gaetz Elementary for families choosing English learning, and École Oriole Park Elementary for families choosing French learning.

Both schools will host an Open House on April 3 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. All families, including those who do not currently attend Annie L. Gaetz Elementary or École Oriole Park Elementary, are invited to attend.

“The Kindergarten Academy of Discovery will be offered as a complement to the great Kindergarten programming that has always been offered at Red Deer Public Schools,” said Nicole Buchanan, Board Chair. “This is another program of choice that we are offering for the 2023/2024 school year.”

The cost for the Kindergarten Academy of Discovery is $500 per month. Officials further point out, however, that Red Deer Public’s regular AM/PM Kindergarten programming will always remain available at no cost for families.

“As Red Deer Public continues to enhance our programming, and meet the needs and interest of students and families, we continue to expand our programs of choice which will build on existing choices and offer new opportunities,” said Buchanan.
