Extra First Thursday concert February 16

The Friends of the Red Deer Public Library (Downtown Branch) and Prairie Debut Artists are pleased to present a second concert this month at the Snell Auditorium on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 12:15 PM -1PM.

Featured artists are Kerry Dowers, violin, and Kathryn Dowling, piano.

Violinist Kerry DuWors and pianist Katherine Dowling capture the timeless stories of human experience with a Romantic program which transcends place, era, culture and circumstance and allows the spirit to sing.

In one of history’s greatest love stories, Robert and Clara Schumann remained devoted both to their art and to each other despite difficulties and adversity. Johannes Brahms was their lifelong confidante and champion, their dearest and most beloved friend. The masterworks of these three extraordinary artists – created in the springtime of the Romantic era – resonate through eloquent compositions designed to refresh the soul and inspire delight in listeners.

Donations

Thanks to those who have made donations in support of the First Thursday concerts. These funds have been used to pay fees and expenses for the musicians presenting at the Library. If anyone wishes to support these concerts, cheques should be made out to the Red Deer Public Library, with a memo for CONCERTS. A charitable receipt will be issued.
