Lacombe County supports Mirror Community Trail

They proposed to create a walking trail around the Hamlet of Mirror, with a trail north loop and a south loop on either side of Highway 50. Much of the trail route uses existing sidewalks and open spaces; however, select sections pass through undeveloped road allowances, which officials say will require some work to be done for the walking trail to be functional.

The project’s start-up is said to include brushing in select areas, installing wayfinding signs, and placing garbage bins and benches along the trail.

Crews are expected to start brushing the trail route by the end of February. Before the trail construction begins, however, landowners who may be impacted by its development are anticipated to be contacted to discuss the proposed work and to talk over any potential concerns.
