Ponoka RCMP make arrest after two robberies

Ponoka RCMP have arrested a suspect in relation to two local robberies.

On Jan. 16, 2023, Mounties say they received a report of a male shoplifting at a store. When confronted, they say the male assaulted the staff member.

On Jan. 17, 2023, RCMP state they received a report of a male seen shoplifting from a different store and when confronted, the male produced a knife and left.

As a result of both investigations, RCMP report they have arrested and charged Matthew George Omeasoo, 26, of no fixed address, with;
