Ponoka unveils new family friendly winter attraction
The Town of Ponoka is excited to present a new family friendly winter attraction. Starting January 10 in the afternoon, the Downtown Plaza (5102 48 Avenue) will be transformed into an ‘Ice Sculpture Village’ where citizens and visitors to Ponoka can take a stroll and enjoy the beauty and magic of the many ice sculptures that will be on display.
“The Ice Sculpture Village offers an exciting new attraction in the heart of our community for everyone to enjoy throughout the winter months. We invite Ponoka citizens and visitors to come and enjoy the sculptures and take lots of photos as you stroll through,” said Sandra Lund, Chief Administrative Officer for Town of Ponoka
The exhibit features beautifully-carved ice sculptures of:
• An elk;
• Bison;
• Fish;
• Goose;
• Horse and sleigh;
• Life-sized ice throne; and
• A Ponoka photo frame that visitors can pose behind to take a fun photo
