Canada Post recovers more than 500 stolen packages in eastern Alberta

A search warrant has resulted in the discovery of more than 500 postal packages at the residence of a Canada Post employee in Wainwright, Alberta, northeast of Red Deer.

On November 23, 2022, a search was conducted by the Wainwright RCMP, the Eastern Alberta District (EAD) Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), and Postal Inspectors from Canada Post.

Police allegedly recovered more than 500 deliverable items that have since been returned to Canada Post to be delivered to their intended destinations.

One suspect was arrested and released with conditions to appear in Wainwright Provincial Court on January 5, 2023.
