Red Deer Games Foundation now accepting applications for financial assistance for local athletes

The Red Deer Games Foundation is now accepting applications for financial assistance for Red Deer and area athletes.

Officials say The Foundation provides financial assistance to individuals demonstrating a high level of ability and strong devotion to their sport.

Information brochures and application forms outlining the guidelines and criteria of the program are available at the Alberta Sport Development Centre or online at www.asdccentral.ca and selecting the Red Deer Games Foundation button.

According to officials, the Red Deer Games Foundation Grant Program has now contributed over $195,000.00 to deserving athletes since the program began in 1975. The grants may be used by elite athletes to help offset the costs of training and equipment as they continue to pursue their training and competition programs.
