Some record low temps in central Alberta this week
A number of central Alberta communities have seen some record low temperatures this week.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, another cold night led to 33 daily minimum temperature records being broken in Alberta early Wednesday morning.
The Red Deer area set a new record low of – 29.3 degrees Celsius on Nov. 9, beating the old record of – 26.1 degrees Celsius set in 1945. Records in this area have been kept since 1904.
The Lacombe area set a new record low for November 9 of – 29.3 degrees Celsius, beating the old record of – 27.8 degrees Celsius set in 1945. Records in this area have been kept since 1907.
