Tennis and pickleball courts reopen in Ponoka

Officials with the Town of Ponoka say upgrades to the tennis and pickleball courts at the Ponoka Aquaplex are now completed, and the courts have reopened to the public.

Users will be able to enjoy newly resurfaced courts and two new additional pickleball courts.

“The upgrades to the courts and the addition of the two new pickleball courts will greatly improve the user experience and provide a quality play surface for years to come. These improvements will also support the continued growth of pickleball and tennis in our community,” said Andrew Jones, Manager of Parks, Recreation and Facilities.

Over the summer, officials say the Town of Ponoka consulted with local pickleball and tennis user groups to invite their input on the planned upgrades, which resulted in the decision to add two more pickleball courts at the facility.
