Between 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 22 and 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 48 Avenue will be closed between 48 Street and 49 Street as construction crews working on the new provincial Justice Centre will work to dismantle the south crane.

City officials say the current closure on 49 Street between 51 Avenue and 49 Avenue is expected to reopen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 23.

The partial closure that has traffic reduced to one lane at the intersection of 49 Avenue and 49 Street is expected to be in place until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28.

Officials say signs will be in place to notify motorists of all traffic disruptions. Drivers are reminded to slow down and obey all signs when driving in construction zones. Pedestrians are reminded to cross only at designated crosswalks.

The City says this work is weather dependent, and schedules may be subject to change.
