Sundre resident scratches his way to $100,000

A Sundre man says he couldn’t believe his eyes when he scratched his $100 ULTIMATE instant ticket and discovered he had won $100,000.

Edward Mereniuk checked his ticket by scanning it using the “Lotto Spot!” App on June 7. Excited, he says he scanned it an additional four times just to make sure.

Before claiming his prize, Mereniuk brought his ticket to the local store, where it was validated by the cashier on July 19.

“I had to look at it again and said, ‘that’s nice,’” said Mereniuk.
