Central Alberta Theatre presents: All Together Now!

Nov 12, 2021 | 11:49 AM

Central Alberta Theatre (CAT) is thrilled to announce they will be joining thousands of theatrical organizations around the globe this weekend by producing their own local production of Music Theatre International’s All Together Now!: A Global Event Celebrating Local Theatre.

CAT officials say theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) created this revue for theatres across the globe to use as a local fundraising event performed over the same weekend.

Central Alberta Theatre’s performances of All Together Now! runs from November 13 – 14, and will also launch the 50th Anniversary Season of the Company’s history. Show times are 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Central Alberta Theatre’s Memorial Centre Main Stage on Nov. 13 and again at 2 p.m. on Nov. 14.

All Together Now! features songs from MTI’s beloved catalogue of musicals including Come From Away, Disney’s Newsies, Godspell, Guys and Dolls, Hairspray, Into the Woods, Les Misérables, Ragtime, Company, Waitress and many more.

Director Suzanne Hermary, says it’s been a really exciting experience to work on some amazing songs from the musical theatre repertoire.

“We have some really amazing people both from Red Deer and Central Alberta,” she exclaims. “We have an artist from Ponoka, Innisfail, Sylvan Lake, all over the place. So it’s been really fun working with these multiple artists from the performing arts and really super exciting to be working in a room together as well.”

The cast features the musical talents of Liz Bennett, Amanda Bulger, Jennifer Cocolicchio, David Heikkinen, Liam Lorrain, Vahn McCagg, Drue Oliver, Spenser Pasman, Heather Reynolds, Airyn Street, and Emily Talma.

Hermary describes the roughly 90 minute show as an exciting collection of “Big Whammy” songs from the world of musical theatre.

“The performers have worked super hard over the past six weeks to make it as amazing a show as it can be,” shares Hermary. “And I’m super supportive of all of the volunteers who have made this possible, including our musical director Morgan McKee and our choreographer Elisa Nixon. We’re just super excited to share this with our community!”

MTI’s President and CEO, Drew Cohen stated, “MTI’s All Together Now! is about bringing people back to the theatre, whether as audience members or cast, crew and musicians. The revue features songs from the world’s most iconic musicals, so there is definitely something for everyone to enjoy. Our goal with this worldwide event is for organizations to provide hope, inspiration and excitement to their communities through the transformative power of musical theatre.”
