Oct 24, 2021 | 11:12 AM

Here are the Weekly Top-10 Rankings for all four Tiers of 12-man high school football in Alberta and the 6-man rankings as well for the 2021 season.

These rankings come out every Sunday until November 7. At that time, those will be the last rankings and teams will take that rank into Provincials.

GAME(S) OF THE WEEK:

Tier III

#5 Stettler Wildcats vs. #3 Sylvan Lake Lakers

1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 30, H.J. Cody High School Field (Sylvan Lake)

It’s been a long year for the Rural Division of the Central Alberta League. Normally this Division sports seven high school teams but with four of them unable to field 12-Man teams due to difficulties returning from an entire year off because of COVID-19, that has left the league with three. The remaining teams have had to rely on games vs. each other and as many exhibition games as they can find. With the tragedy Thanksgiving weekend on the highway near Wetaskiwin that claimed the life of one of the student athletes who played football and injured two other players effectively ending the season for the Sabres, that has left just two teams to compete for the Rural Championship and a berth in the ASAA Provincials at the Tier III level. Fortunately, these are two very good teams, so with all of the things they have had to face this year and last year behind them now, they can finally leave it all on the field for a true Championship game.
