Lacombe resident wins $100,000 on lotto ticket

A Lacombe resident has a little extra pocket change after recently purchasing a WESTERN MAX ticket.

Kenneth Comfort purchased a ticket for the Aug. 17 draw, and is walking away with $100,010.

“I took my ticket to the store and scanned it on the self-scanner,” he said. “When I saw the amount come up on the screen my first reaction was, ‘That can’t be right.’”

Comfort hasn’t made plans for his winnings yet.

“I don’t want to do anything right away,” he said. “I’m going to take my time deciding what to do.”

His ticket was purchased — with the EXTRA — as part of a $24 Super Pack at the Lacombe Co-op Gas Bar (5850 Hwy 2A, Lacombe). Comfort won by matching the last six digits of the EXTRA number — 4094489, and he won $10 in other prizes.
