This past weekend, the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Soccer team picked up a win and a draw against the Olds College Broncos.

The Queens Soccer team, meanwhile, had a strong performance against the Broncos and evened their record (1-1-0) after two games.

Queens Soccer | Sunday, September 26 | RDP Main Field

The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Soccer team (1-1-0) shutout the Olds College Broncos (2-2-0) by a score of 5-0.

Corbynn Fujimoto, Paige Kalbfleisch, and Grace Smith scored singles for the Queens. Lacombe’s Jenica Swartz, a first-year Bachelor of Science Pre-Med student, scored a pair of goals in the home victory and was recognized as the North Star Sports Queens Player of the Game.

Kings Soccer | Saturday, September 25 | Olds College

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Soccer team (1-0-1) and Olds College Broncos (1-1-1) tied 1-1.

No RDP student-athlete was credited with the goal as a Broncos defender redirected the ball into their own net. Kings goalkeeper Jared St Thomas made five saves in the draw.

In the latter half of a home-and-home series, the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings (2-0-1) dominated the Olds College Broncos (1-2-1) by a 5-0 margin at the Polytechnic.

Kirk Moody, Pedro Humberto Mourao Neto, Kaidri Bornyi, Hayden Jacobs, and Gabriel Fleury de Queiroz contributed goals for the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings. Bornyi, a midfielder from Edmonton, was named the North Star Sports Kings Player of the Game.
