Perfect season continues for 13U AAA Braves

The Red Deer 13U AAA Mr. Suds Braves have pushed their record to 8-0 on the season.

The Braves beat the Camrose Cougars 15-3 and the Edmonton Padres 11-0 on Saturday, followed by beating Camrose 33-8 and Edmonton 15-5 on Sunday.

Daril Rodriguez led the way Saturday against Camrose with two doubles, a home run (his fifth of the year) and four RBIs. George Monaghan and Fletcher Patton each had two hits as well.

Nathan Hemstreet, Matthew Morrow and Tyson DeZutter combined on the mound to shut out the Padres striking out eight. Keaton Rusnak, Owen Coumont, Monaghan and Rodriguez each had two hits.

Game two against Camrose was a complete team effort at the plate as all 12 players each had at least one hit. Isaac Nakonechny and Coumont led the team each having four hits and five RBIs. Ben McMahon, Patton, and Rusnak all pitched well in the win.

Carter Skjonsberg had three hits and three runs scored to pace the balanced offense in game two against Edmonton. Bubba Reed and Nakonechny combined to close the door on the mound in the last four innings allowing only one run and striking out five.

Next action is this coming weekend in Calgary, with two games against the Cochrane Crush and two against the Calgary Bucks.
