Crash near Didsbury claims life of Red Deer man

A 37-year-old man from Red Deer was killed in a collision late Monday night on the QEII Highway near Didsbury.

It was 11:42 p.m. when Didsbury RCMP responded to a 911 call of a collision between a truck and semi tractor-trailer at the intersection of Highway 2 and Township Road 320 in Mountain View County.

Police say it appears the southbound truck crossed the median and struck the northbound semi.

The driver of the truck, whose name is not being released, was pronounced dead at the scene while the semi driver was not hurt.

Didsbury RCMP continue to investigate the crash.
